The most notable portrayal of Superman was first seen back in 1978 in a movie adaptation by Richard Donner and a portrayal by Christopher Reeve in <span style="font-weight:bold;">Superman: The Movie</span>. This successful movie was followed by three more installments all portrayed by Christopher Reeve. The 2006 movie <span style="font-weight:bold;">Superman Returns</span> where newcomer Brandon Routh played the 'blue boy scout' was a riveting success. <br /><br />So what's in store for the Superman movie fan? A 'sequel' for Superman Returns is rumored to be in production by Warner Brothers. The title? Superman Unleashed. These are all rumors though. Let's just see how everything turns out. Superhero movies are a genre of their own because it tackles themes and subjects that are possible because of the special skills that the protagonists or heroes of the movie possess.
